With cucumbers coming out of the garden and into the fridge at a phenomenal rate the only solution appears to be pickles. This garden season has already seen me make many jars of pickles, and we do love pickles, so why not make a few more jars?
This time I am making what is generally known as bread and butter pickles. These are not made with bread or butter, but are defined by the spicing of the brine that the cucumbers are pickled in.

On this occasion I made a double quantity of brine, but the ingredients for a single quantity are below,
2 cups Water
3 cups white vinegar
1/2 tbsp Black mustard seeds
1/2 tbsp Yellow mustard seeds
1 tsp Peppercorns
1 tsp Celery seeds
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp Turmeric
½ tsp Dill seeds
½ tsp Dried dill weed
4 tbsp Salt
2 cups Sugar
